Celebrating 45 Years

Founded in 1979

Seeking to make a personal impact in the fight against cancer, a group of family and friends founded the Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) in 1979. In succeeding years, the 501(c)(3) charitable organization grew beyond curative treatment and palliative care to include medical research and education at the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO. In recent years, the CCF has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to oncology research, all the while providing lifesaving support to men, women, and children in need throughout the State of Colorado.

98% of Funds Donated

Financial Overview

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) donated an average of 98% of the funds it has received through charitable contributions to research and patient care. This remarkable rate of giving is due in part to the CCF’s wonderful sponsors, who give generously to the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, in part to the individual men and women who support the CCF’s through diverse events throughout the year, and in part to the organization’s volunteer board of directors who are united through person experiences with cancer to end the disease.

Run for the Cure

Thursday, August 15, 2024 | 6:00 PM

Now in its 45th year, the annual Eldorado Run for the Cure is the longest continuously operating benfit footrace in Colorado. Better than ever in 2024, the beloved family-friendly run passes through scenic Eldorado Springs Canyon State Park, with the four-mile out and back twice course beginning and ending at the Eldorado State Park entrance, avoiding interaction with cars on the main thoroughfare, so if you enjoyed the run last year this year will be just as fun and rewarding. Also, when the run is over, please feel free to relax and unwind at the newly renovated Eldorado Springs Pool, where you can sit poolside and enjoy catered food and drink, which are included with the ticket price.

Researchers & Clinicians

Drug Development & Patient Care

Although pharmaceutical companies spend billions on research and development in an effort to treat and ultimately cure cancer and other forms of disease, academic institutions, such as the University of Colorado (CU), are at the forefront of innovation. In recent years, funding for academic institutions and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has all but dried up, making donations vital. Thanks to a variety of national and local sponsors, including KB Homes, Appliance Factory, Satire Brewing, Black Belly, Eldorado Springs Water, Pasta Jay’s, Avery, and more, the Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) is thriving.

Academic Funding

CU Anschutz Medical Campus

Since its inception in 1979, the Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to cancer patients and researchers, including but not limited to Dr. Will Robinson MD, PhD, who maintains a laboratory at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. In June 2017, several members of the CCF Board of Directors visited Dr. Robinson's laboratory, where they received a firsthand look at the technology used by researchers in the continuing fight against cancer, including a high-powered microscope paid for by the CCF and the generosity of its donors.

Corporate Partnerships

SPonsorship Spotlight

In recent years, a significant portion of the Colorado Cancer Foundation’s (CCF) savings have come from enterprise level business donations, generous patrons such as KB Homes and Appliance Factory have facilitated the CCF’s work. From helping individuals and families in need to providing support to researchers and clinicians at the University of Colorado (CU) Anschutz Medical Campus to promoting the CCF’s signature fundraiser, the Eldorado Run for the Cure, these businesses are integral to the 501(c)(3) nonprofit’s success.

Local Businesses

Loyal Partners

The Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) derives a good deal of its annual funding through the generosity of local businesses, including Satire Brewery, Black Belly, and more. In gratitude for the donations it receives, the CCF periodically showcases local business owners who are making marked difference in the lives of individuals and families across the State of Colorado through one-time donations, or ongoing gifts. If you would like to become a loyal partner, helping to raise valuable funds, please contact us today, thank you.

The Colorado Cancer Foundation (CCF) thanks local businesses who have generously supported the CCF at large, as well as its annual fundraisers, including but not limited to the Eldorado Run for the Cure, donating cash, gift cards, and on site support.
